CITYSPACES 2007 SHOWS RENEWED INTEREST IN DOWNTOWN INVESTMENT

Attendees of the Cityspace 2007 Reception held on June 21st enjoyed a doubledecker bus tour of downtown properties including a trip to Hamilton's waterfront.

The BIA honoured 25 companies who have been in business 25 years or more. Here Paul Reardon of Reardon's Meats & Deli received his plaque for 96 years of business.

The momentum is building in Downtown as the Downtown Hamilton BIA prepares to open their doors to prospective buyers, investors, and new business operators at Cityspace 2007 – Find Your Place, an event being held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Hamilton Convention Centre from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Attendees will enjoy a free networking opportunity in conjunction with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Business After Business program, and take a double-decker bus tour of several downtown office and retail properties and learn why Downtown Hamilton is on the move.
“The BIA, itself, began in June 1982 and is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year. It will also salute 25 businesses who have over 25 years of business history in Downtown Hamilton at the event” says Tim Bullock, Chairman of the BIA’s Board of Management. “We thought what better way to show prospective buyers or new business operators that they can succeed in Downtown Hamilton than by putting them in the same room with 25 business owners who have operated businesses here over 25 years. The oldest one is 105 years young.”

The Downtown Hamilton BIA is on the lookout for new and inspiring entrepreneurs to fill the core with business. "With so many different options available in Downtown, there is a wide variety to choose from." says Kathy Drewitt, Executive Director, of the Downtown BIA. "That is why we are launching a new event called
Cityspace 2007 - Find Your Place." This event will occur on Thursday, June 21st, 2007 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Hamilton Convention Centre. Free parking is being arranged for both exhibitors and guests. This event will also play host to the Business After Business program of the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and is free of charge. Registration is encouraged as space is limited.
Guests will learn why Downtown Hamilton is the best place to do business. They can obtain information on affordable available office and retail space directly from property owners and property management companies as well as network and talk directly to local business owners about how they have succeeded in their business operations in Downtown Hamilton. The evening will also include a Double Decker bus tour of a variety of great downtown locations.
