The *City of Hamilton* has initiated a number of grant and loan programs that are available to property owners to rehabilitate their building and assist in the revitalization efforts in downtown Hamilton.
* Enterprize Zone Municipal Realty Tax Incentive Grant Program for the development or rehabilitation of residential and/or commercial land and buildings within the Downtown Hamilton Community Improvement Project Area;
* Hamilton Downtown Residential Loan Program for the development of new residential units, renovations to existing residential units, and conversion of existing commercial space into residential units;
* Commercial Property Improvement Grant Program for façade improvements within the twelve Business Improvement Areas (BIAs).

Within the next few days you will receive the City of Hamilton’s
DOWNTOWN HAMILTON BUSINESS SAFETY & SECURITY AUDIT FOR 2007.
We ask you to take a few moments from your busy day and respond to all questions you feel appropriate to your business, and give this office a call when you have your survey completed (by July 20th, 2007) … and we will pick it up and return those from the BIA area.
Please insert your completed survey in the envelope provided by the City as they will not be read, or copied by this office.
Also consider that your responses will have a direct effect on such things as Hamilton Police Services budgeting, number of officers in the Downtown Core Patrol … response times to calls from business re ‘crime’ within the area and individual businesses. Also, the level of services received from the City of Hamilton for such things as street cleaning, plant maintenance, etc.
This survey is being distributed to all businesses within the ‘official’ Downtown, that is Queen to Victoria, Cannon to Hunter and James Street from the escarpment to LIUNA …
